On Fish!  We all use this statement when we have found a nice group of fish before a tournament. During the Bass-N-Bucks tournament Saturday Feb 7 on Toledo Bend Darold Gleason and Chris Schamerhorn redefined this statement. Twenty minutes into the tournament the rest of the 212 boat field was fishing for second place.  Darold and Chris put five fish in the boat that weighed over 24 pounds in the first twenty minutes.  The team then went to their second area and caught two 6 pounders which increased their bag to 28.74.  Gleason and Schamerhorn used crankbaits and Stanley Bug Eyed Football head jigs to catch this massive stringer and beat the second place team of Sam Creel and Joel James (24.78 lbs) by just under 4 pounds.

Tony Clemens wins $1,205.00!!!  Despite windy conditions Tony Clemens ran his Evinrude powered Triton to the mid lake area of Toledo Bend and put together a nice five fish stringer to win the tournament and $705.00.  Clemens' 15.74 bested the other 39 anglers (35 boaters and 5 non-boaters).  Dean West barely squeaked out second place over Ricky Blankinship by .01 lbs.  West's 13.47 bag included the American Rodsmiths' Big Bass of the tournament.  Dean won $453 for second place and $200.00 for big bass plus an American Rodsmiths fishing rod for his efforts.
