The American Bass Anglers is the largest amateur bass fishing circuit in the United States.  With districts all across the country anglers have the unique opportunity to fish virtually any major body of water either as a boater or as a non-boater.  Each district has a series of 1 day tournaments and a 2 day championship.  Anglers competing in at least four 1 day tournaments within a district and a 2 day district championship can qualify to fish in the National Championships.
Entry Fees are $70.00 if anglers pre-register with ABA headquarters or $75.00 onsite the morning of the tournament. For complete rules and championship information go to www.americanbassanglers.com

Qualifying Format for 2010

The ABA qualification format for the 2010 National Championships is the same as the 2009 as of September 2009.  This could change so check back with us for updates.  Anglers can now qualify for the National Championships directly throught their district.  The American Bass Anglers have eliminated the Regional Championship tournaments as part of the National Qualification.  The top 500 anglers will qualify for the National Championships based on points.  Anglers points will be totaled from their best 4 "one day" tournaments and their best "two day" district championship.

No Boat, No Problem.    The ABA American Fishing Tour (AFT) is designed for non-boaters.  Non-boaters can now compete on the same level as boaters and qualify for the same National Championship Tournament.  In the AFT boaters and non-boaters compete against each other with the same entry fee and same rules.  Non-boaters can register on-site and fish in the boat with other anglers.  90% of Professional anglers started fishing as a non-boater.  This circuit allows fisherman that are new to tournament fishing the opportunity to learn from more experienced fisherman and fish in a professional tournament without having to own a $40,000 boat.
